Maybe he just doesn't like native fish in tanks way too small for them. Either way, releasing it back into the wild is a bad idea.

Exactly.

Hopefully this is just a temporary holding tank.

yes the tank is to small for life...now if this person researched the fish before getting it, like every one should...this tank is a fine starting point...most people make stupid comments like that one without knowing the facts...if this guy doesn't have a large enough home for this fish in the future, then shame on him...there is way to many people in this section and the aro section that run their mouths not knowing everything...that is what i am refuring to...

Basic formula for tank footprint required...

Length of adult fish x 4= Length of tank
Length of adult fish x 1.5= width

For an adult size of 56" that tank would have to be 19'x7' in foot print.

I seriously doubt that many people on this entire planet have the ability to properly house a fish of that size. The tank its in right now is simply insulting to not only the fish, but to this hobby as a whole.

Why was it even taken into captivity?!?!

I tend to agree.

Unfortunately many people don't do proper research on the species of fish before getting them, and that tank isn't "too small for life", it's already too small. Hence the reason I previously stated ....Hopefully this is just a temporary holding tank.

FYI - my comments are based on many years of seeing & handling both juvenile & adult musky.

if properly researched and preped for it can be done...i will have one in my pond setup with a few others...my pond will be a 15'x 30'x4' above ground pool...i may dig it out, but idk

i was not questioning your exp. as i to have yrs of exp. with muskies of all sizes...i just feel that if everyone complains about peoples stock and if people do the reasponsible thing and research their is no need to do so...now that being said i stated the sizes of some that i have seen and there were not "OMG! they get that big?" so it must have been known...so going off that it must have been researched...
