Acually i have a last question. When a mokelembembe is fulygrown and about 12 - 13 inches? how thick is it?

it should only get around 10-11" and maybe as thick as .75"-1.25" if well fed, but not over fed. I haven't personally had one that large though so I couldn't tell you and be positive I know cohazard has some pretty big ones maybe he can tell you how thick his are.

Yes, ok.

Now to the biggest challenge.. Finding somewhere they acually sell these animals in denmark :)
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think Toyin from rehoboth aquatics ships worldwide. So if thats true you could probably shoot him an e-mail, because last I checked he had some mokelembembe in stock.

Yes, but im thinking if theres more theyd possible start working as a group, equals larger chance that they kill my Eupterus.
I dont know much about these little guys behaivior.

Is there any way of sexing them. I could imagine it could be cool to have a pair of a male and a female.

I don't think they would mokes usually are the shyest of the bichirs. However if they do grow larger than your Eupterus than there is always a chance that they could get eaten if they could fit in the polys mouth, but I would put mokes at the very end of the list of possible bichirs to eat something else. And yes there is a way of sexing them let me get a pic.

Polypterus gender.png the male in on the bottom the female is on the top males tend to have more fleshy anal fins while females have very small slim anal fins. However when juveniles all polys will have the female looking anal fin so if the polys is under 5" you can't positively tell male or female

Ok, do males stay smaller or is it the other way around? Have you had any luck breeding them? Ive heard its exstremely hard.
