140 Gallon Indoor Turtle Pond Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well with the amount of waste these guys produce, stuff is bound to build up in the rocks.even in my 30 gallon community tank,i have an ac 30,ac 70,and a top fin 30 running on it and i still have to do a good amount of gravel vacuuming..with bigger rocks itd be a ***** to clean

Isn't that the point of the filter? to collect waste rather than letting it float around in the main tank? :screwy:

BTW, I've been using a Jebao 818 for a while now and have had no problems, besides the fact that the plumbing is all green, so it sticks out in my tank, but if you spraypaint it, you should have no problem.
Looks like a great build. GL

He was saying waste will build up in rock substrate, not in the filter.

got my lighting put in today....paid only about 30 bucks for everything.i also started work on the basking dock.only got one pic right now.i got a 4' fixture with one plant/aquarium bulb and a sunlight bulb

looks good keep up the good work. And I would suggest not using the rocks cause they will be a pain to keep clean. sand is much easier to keep clean. And if you do go with sand spend the extra few bucks for pool filter sand.

well i got the sand in an a couple rocks.also got the crappy basking dock in.gonna fill it here when my bro gets home.the dock looks huge but they can swim underneath it so it didnt really affect how much space they have.its still in its basic stages right now but plants and other things will come as i go along
