u will need a basking dock and uv light for sure. i say go with the bluegill or sunfish. they are easy to collect and look natural with the turtles

Update! me and my buddy did some more work today...actually alot of work.ill let the pics speak for themselves.
Picked up two sheets of 1/2" ply,gallon of drylock,some tub sealing caulk and some brushes...
we decided to add two more braces on the sides for the ply to sit on..the board parallel and to the left of the tape...
with the floor and two sides installed..
last two sides installed...pretty tight fit if you ask me...
Then we sealed all the edges,screws,and knots on the inside and we even sealed the outside edges...
i had some more time so i decided to start dryloking...i left the caulk along the edges exposed so it can cure..ill fill it in tomorrow...
well ill be sure to post up more tomorrow

Turtles feel most unsafe on thier basking area since they are not in the safty of the water so having this be in the corner of the wall or near a wall so they are less exsposed. Also the basking lamp can be quite bright when watching TV or something so think about angles and placement for that.
I have a 6 inch deep sand area for my basking area but something like a slab of slate works well so that it wil warm up while the turtle is not there and provide extra warmth all around when the turtle does go up there. Also make sure there is room for all of them. They tent to bask together, must be part of the safty thing. They tent to stack on top of eachother too while basking so a ton of room is not needed, although this i've only seen with younger one not sure if older ones do it too.

yea itll be decent size...ive got a big piece of shale outside ill put on there.i feel bad for them in their little tank right now
Yeah it's amazing how some people 'care' for these animals. Luckily there are many people and groups that resuce them and put them in much better tanks.
