i love the filter..i wouldnt be able to justify spending more than what i did on a fluval or something like that because this thing works perfectly fine.really quiet..im glad i trusted you and went with that one because now i might have to get this filter for my other tanks...thanks conner!Conner;4023762; said:Looking awesome! idk man i dont see how it could get compacted.i say just go for it because i would guess theyd be able to pass it without any issues.they are pretty much going to eat whatever they can fit in their mouths so id rather it be just sand than anything else.and its SUPER easy to keep clean.i had gravel and rocks in their old tank and it was incredibly hard to keep clean.all i do with the sand is just wave the net in the water and mix it up and net the water clean of big material and my filter does the restryno1974;4024459; said:I wanted to do sand in my RES tank, but everything I read warned against it. Have any of you guys used sand for any period of time with success? My tank with large rocks is gross all the time. I would love to make the change.
