PLEASE HELP ME!!!
My 1year old 14inch Mbu puffer seems very sick. Recemtly one of his tankmates (a 8inch Tigrinus) died from an unknown (suspected to be hemorhagic septocemia) disease in which he turned all pinkish red, his fins became tattered and reddened, and seemed to swell up just behind the head. The reason I say hemo septocemia is that a few month back I had bought some sturgeon and one came in with a very badly swollen eye. I seperated from rest and treated for pop eye, and no success. As it became worse the fish started to get open wounds on its body, swim in circles aimlessly, and begin to turn pink, then red, then dead. My 8inch EBJD also has what seems to be a cloudy eye that is becoming more concave than convex. I treated with quickcure after seeing the eye and a few small spots on the puffers eye, and thats when the TIGrinus got bad. stopped eatting. stopped swimming, nothing, just layed there bloated looking, turning more red and gasping for air. The died this morning, and I have been doing massive water changes since begining the quick cure (which has been stopped). My puffer ate half a crayfish lastnight, and pooped it out semi whole this morning (normally he eats all the time, he hasnt eaten that ive seen in over a week atleast. Generally, he eats snails, crayfish, frozen raw market shrimp. I have pictures of the puffer and the tigrinus for anyone willing to offer some advice. I bought Kanaplex and focus both by seachem to treat with but am unsure what to do. Ive tried triple sulfa and nitrofuran but didnt see any progress, actually that is when the TIG really really went down hill. Again, any help would be GREAT. Thanks
Mike:cry:

I have pictures available of both tigrinus and mbu. i will try to get them up, or ill email them to whoever thinks they can help. PUFFERPUNK.... please help

Seems like Bacteria infection... Same thing happened to one of my dats... bars started to fade and had red spots/streaks and stopped eatting. Best medication for this is API Triple Sac Sulfa. I don't know how big your tank is, but the med is pretty expensive, one box treats up to 100 gallons and you need 4 treatments for complete med cycle and depending on where you are from runs about $10-$15 per box. Buy one box now and us it now and order bulk from Big Al's online... $95 for 850grams. I used the med and the next day my dats colors came back and it started to eat.

Pics would possibly help here, be VERY weary of using so many chemicals. I generally ONLY treat with salt and heat. I also have a 15-16 inch year old Mbu.

I used the API triple sulfa prior to this when the tig first showed the redness, and it only seemed to make it worse. I have kanaplex and focus both by seachem and the kanaplex is supposed to be very good for the septecemia. Any one else able to offer some advice please?

I know this probably has nothing to do with it, but listing the water parameters, tank size and any tank mates etc might also give people some clues as to what might be happening in your tank?

Anyway, best of luck with your problem... and post pics up here if possible...
