Amazing pond...wish I had a garden as big as that. Would have changed to water-garden in a heartbeat.
Living in Thailand as well, you might be interested to see the pond I 'had to' build for the Arapaima that came into my life.
Documented every step of the build here on MFK.
Personally, I'd have gone with a bog along the wall with your neighbors, or retro-fit, with a pump from your first filter-chamber into the bog, then waterfall back into main pond.
Fill it up with large flowering plants and you can switch off your UV's...no need for them anymore, I guarantee.
My pond at work is 10x6 meters at about 1-1.2 meters deep. 2 Bog filters with about 3.5-4cbm gravel and total surface of about 6 sqmt.
Water is crystal clear with hundreds of fish in it.
If you're ever close to Navanakorn, come and have a look. Arapaima is beautiful, sweet and fun.
