My Flowerhorn is wasting away and after 14 days of various treatments I have little to no improvements.

The flowerhorn is 6 months old and about 6" in length. He has a 55 Gallon to himself.

I am unsure of my current tank parameters, but I change 30% of the water every other day. Temp is at 90 degrees. Salt and Epsom Salts are added at each water change.

Symptoms: Not eating, white "cottony", "mucousy" feces, sunken eyes, and decreased energy levels.

Treatments: Days 1, 3 & 5 - dosing of Jungle parasite clear.
Days 7 and 8 Oral dosing of Metro +.
Days 9 and 11 Metro + bath.
Day 13 Metro + bath and methylene blue.
Day 14 Jungle Fungus clear.

On days 11 and 12 the left gill ceased working. Once methylene blue was added both gills functioned properly.

Does anybody have any suggestions. Please help, I don't want to loose this guy.

Thanks in advance.

ive seem mine go about 2 months just like that...i chopped up some dried krill and 1 clove of garlic and they were eating in about 2 weeks i think the garlic helps kills the parsites and gives them appitite

Yeah, I've tried garlic powder with blood worms with no luck. I have been tempted to use a syringe to force feed.
2 months huh? Well that makes me feel better.

I would seriously get that temp back down to 80 deg and get those 2 kinds of salt out of there. He's been treated with Parasite Clear (good move) so now just give him a week or 2 with nothing but good clean water to heal. They don't heal overnight if they had parasites. It takes a week or 2. All that salt and a temp of 90 degrees is cetainly not doing him any good.

Thanks for the advice. I thought I needed to keep treating since the feces is still fuzzy and white.

So your saying the parasites or whatever are most likely gone?

probably stressed from all the water changes and messin with him. I would get the temp back down like stated earlier and just leave him alone for a week with no feedings. keep the tank dark and minimize stress as much as you can. is your tank cycled?

Yeah, it's cycled the tank has been running for six months and no issues.

Fuzzy white poo doesn't only mean "parasites", it's a symptom that he's not diegesting food for whatever reason. Sometimes it's parasites, sometimes it's some other illness or something that resolves itself. I'd say with those treatments of Parasite Clear that he's parasite-free. If he even had parasites in the 1st place. Parasites aren't all that common for tank bred fish, not like wild-caughts. That temp's too high and those 2 kinds of salt are doing no good whatsoever. I know someone's going to argue with me thinking they know better-you're going to have to decide who you want to believe.

I'm cool with that. You have a lot of nice fish and I'm sure you've been through the same thing. I trust your experience. I have medicated this guy with everything under the sun for bacterial, parasitic and fungal infections. I am going to revert his environment back to normal and see what happens.

Actually I haven't been through that. I do treat (twice) with the equivalent of Parasite Clear with every new fish I get while they're in quarrantine. I've been nothing but lucky with my fish, nothing but luck. The only thing I do different than most is huge water changes & low nitrates.
