Why can you not flip the bulkhead and glue your union to the pipe that already glued in then all you have to do is make a stand pipe for I side the box

And this is why i am an idiot and you are not !

It all comes with experience man lol.

Nah im am idiot. They werent glued. Probably just hammered into place. Soaked them in hot water and played with them enough to get them free.

Got some stuff done tonight.
Hung a spare satellite led under the tank with velcro

Started on the sock holder. Probably wont work and may be a waste of time. But i figured i could use 1/2 inch pvc and wire tie strips of eggcrate to them making a shelf so that i could adjust the height of the socks.

Got some of the plumbing done. Forgot to gwt 1 inch 45° elbows so just mocked up what i could for the return, and started some of the drains.

Thx millerkid519 millerkid519

Started on the sock holder. Again this is probably a waste but what the hell.

Cut over over sized as the socks havent arrived yet. Figured 1 tray to hold the socks and another wire tied at the bottom of the pvc supports to keep them from kicking out.

Im thinking that i could cut notches into the top tray and turn the pvc in one direction to adjust the level than back into another direction to support the tray. I dunno
Little mock up to see if it would work.

Can't tell by the photo, and if you've got enough depth, just disregard, but the U tubes must extended far enough enough below the surface of the water in the overflow PVC pipes of the outer box, and the weirs of the in tank box, otherwise siphon will break.
You mentioned cutting them at a 45' angle, so make sure the U tubes are submerged enough below the notch, that bubbles don't collect in the U tube to break siphon. You can add height in the out/tank box, by adding lengths of PVC

Here is depth in one of my overflow boxes, I added a length of PVC on the stand pipes to keep the water level high enough above the lowest ends of the U-tube, and also suspend a PVC cap over to eliminate some noise

another view where a strainer is suspended on an in tank standpipe, and a cap placed on top to quiet the gurgle a little

Thx duanes duanes for the pics and the info about the u tube. Im not cutting the u tube only the stand pipes in the outter box. But you have me a good idea about raising the water level a little bit to avoid loss of siphon. I'll have to take that into account when i cut the stand pipes.

Got the return done. Just need to paint it. Wife had to help get things inplace under the stand cuz of my back/hip issues. Cant wait to get this done as it was too painful messing around with the big canister
