150 gallon at pets mart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
"the dimensions on the 150 tall are 48x24x30 tall. basically, a giant cube." :screwy::banhim::grinno::ROFL:

I can see there's some higher (cough, cough) math goin on here, so I'll stay out of that. Forget the tall tank. You will hate dealing with all that wasted water. You can do much better for that kind of $$$$. Good luck!

personally i don't like those dimensions at all. I prefer longer tanks. Look for one that's 6' long at 150g that would be a better buy imo.

price wise for new it's not bad considering the thickness required for a 30" tall tank.

that being said I went for used/refurbished on all of my tanks as I simply think it's not worth it to pay more for "new". It's the same principle as a car the instant you take it home, you've overpaid by 25% or more.

and seriously lmao at the comment on leaks. tank sealant is 13$ a tube. reseal it if you're worried.

From what I've seen all of the big box pet stores are overpriced when it comes to their aquarium stuff.I would check with the independently owned stores or as suggested earlier check Craigslist.

Not a bad deal at all considering the dimensions. Sounds very reasonable. I'd do it.

Petsmart 6' 125s here are $350. The LFS prices are worse.

my general rule of the thumb is .50 cents to 1 bucks per gallonage for glass aquariums

i got a brand new still in plastic 125 with 2 brand new 36" strip lights and a brand new oak stand for 350$ + i had to get the glass top at my lfs which was i wanna say 60$
so for a little over 400$ i got a brand new 125 all ready to go off craigslist

New or used? Rule is a lil vague for new tanks considering glass thicknesses

USED and the condition of the tank- it applies only to the tank itself not the stand or equipment package

the more thicker/quality the glass is tank is then I pay more

its very vague indeed but its on case-to-case basis and yes I should have said used in the first place

I do not buy brand new tanks myself when there are too many good used ones out there for a fraction of the price
