150 Gallon tank- Suggestions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
could have a really nice native fish setup, maybe a couple bullhead catfish, and since ur in conneticut i'd give smallmouth bass a try :P

yeah i was originally gonna suggest crappie or bream with the bullheads

You'd be fine for a loooong time on the smallmouths I think though, very slow growing fish, much slower than largemouths

in the wild on average they grow to about 14" within 4 years, but I understand the reluctance

I kept a bullhead when I was a kid, as muddy and ugly as these fish are when caught wild, they look GREAT when raised in an aquarium in cleaner water. They get a very dark almost blueish tinge, and look really clean, so if you were able to catch some as small as like 6", i think they'd make a great fish for your tank

i disagree ;) just gotta know your fishing spots well, however I do see what you mean, could be a while until the bullheads start biting again :| could always add a pair of convicts and see how many fish you have by then ^_^
