is that an insult lol...cheers for the replys. its a longer process than than ordering off the shelf but its yours (custom build).. renting at the moment credit crunch over ere dontknow about u guys.. hopefully have bigger one in our own house...it just seems to be a waiting game... resin to set.. primer to set.. 3 weeks for resin to fully cure. then silicone glass.. wait a week. fill with water... wait 1-2 week... get the pic... lol
then wait while tank gets estabilished... months in total..

no insult intended just passing on info. and trying to help. this is a great build and I like the simplicity. I know how you feel with the crdit crunch and such its been hard on everyone both sides of the pond. I have to live my DIY through others right now I haven't worked in 4 months. I have a big project on hold until I get going again to build a 1500G tank. keep it up I like this project. heck I like any DIY project big or small

like them also... any one using ugj system and what do you think... want to keep as much muck and food off the bottom.... (very low maintenance) any one had any good experiences..thanks greengiant for the input.. made it much more harder to decide...lol.. thanks though. any way no rush want it all to be right...

well ill start on the filtration in the next few days, cant really decide as yet... ill let everyone know what im going with.... thanks for all the replys

lookin good! i like it. what are you going to be stocking with?
i like the idea of using the compartment as the filter with the pump at the bottom, and allowing water to over flow through a spot in the top and come through somewhere on the side. then have thepump plumbed to the opposite side of the tank where you can have multiple jets to point wherever you want. kind of a big version of the premade nanos or the larger red sea units.
what are the dimensions? that thing is tall, i love tall tanks.

cheers... still thinking of having a cylynder in that side.. just ordered a 5000lth pond pump.. was thinking of having thant inside the tank drawing water from 1 maybe 2 uprights at the oposite side from the filter section through a cylinder back into the stocked side via jets which will direct all the muck towards the uprights.. heres a drawing...
