Hi, I was planning on getting either a 95 or a 120 Gallon aquarium, but since this will be my last tank (At Least For A While) I wanted to go the biggest I could. I have 7 feet to work with length wise, and up to 2 feet width wise. I would like to get a 210 Gallon (84x24x24) but I’m having trouble finding a sturdy table or cabinet that fits a tank that size. If I can find a fitting table I will probably go with the 210, but if I can’t should I get a 72x24x24 180 Gallon, or a 84x18x24 155 Gallon? For the fish I would like to go in the tank, I’m not sure yet, but probably either a Community tank with some larger loaches (Not Clowns Though) or maybe a Discus Tank. I do have a 9” Trinindad/Common Pleco that will be moving as well. Which tank (Besides The 210) should I go with? Also please give me some different filtration ideas. Thank you for all the help in advance.

That size of tank you don't want it on a table or cabinet, those won't be strong enough to be safe. Get a proper stand or have one made.

This one's easy.

Get the biggest tank you can, which fits into the space available.

And as mentioned, get a proper stand, not some flimsy furniture that's only fit for putting a plant on!

Job jobbed.

Ok, So Should I Just Get The 210 Then? Or do the others have better features than the 210?

I mean, 180 is my favorite size tank for practicality, but if I had the room for a 210 I would get that. I would get the biggest tank I could fit, Build a homemade stand for cheap, and put a nice sump underneath it.

Alright, sounds like I should get the 210. I know a guy that will make a custom 7x2 stand that will hold the tank. Do you think a Common would be able to live its whole life in a 210? Also, if I choose a sump, what sump Size should I choose? What other good filtration options are there?

Easily, yeah, They don't usually get too big. I've had a bigger Gibbiceps in a 4X2X2 for 20 years and he seems happy enough.

Also, if I choose a sump, what sump Size should I choose?

As big as you can conveniently fit in the stand but keeping enough room for all the other stuff in it. Probably a 3 foot sump would be about right?

I have some bad news. I’m sadly not allowed to go wide than 18”, but if I get a 7 footer. However, I still should be able to get the 84x18x24 155 or the 72x24x24 180. If you had to pick, which one would be better? (Especially For A Potentially 16” Fish)
