I'm so excited, this project has been a favourite of mine for some time. Still an octo going in there? I'm curious as to how you look after these things

They're actually pretty easy to take care of once you understand their needs. Keep em well fed and happy haha I'll probably start with a puffer (still my favorite saltwater fish) and build from there. It will depend on how easy i obtain the octo eggs. If they aren't readily available ill probably start some corals.

Sorry for the delayed responses everyone! I just started a new job so it’s been a tad crazy. The acrylic panels are in :) The two large side panels took five of us to move into the basement but it was a success! The left side panel needs approx 1/32nd shaved off the top as it was a tad too large but won’t be noticeable afterwards. Just have to silicone them in now. 2” acrylic is really beautiful lol

Where did you find the 2" acrylic?
Also wondering how you feel about the stacked 2x4 design. Do you prefer that method, or would you rather have gone with more of just a wooden post frame design, lined with plywood?

Drew

Im still quite confident in the stacked 2 x 4 method simply because there is still a lot of vertical support as well. I like knowing there aren't any gaps in the structure. If I was going to do another tank id probably just pour concrete to ease my worries haha Here in Pittsburgh i located a plastics supplier in cranberry township called Piedmont Plastics. I picked it up at the facility. Each piece weighed approx 250lbs.

Damn, that is one big tank. how are you going to get into the tank to maintain it? is there an easy way to climb in because you are going to have to in order to clean that monster of a tank.
