18' x 9' x 3.5' catfish tank build in progress.....

Yeah, thinking of starting up an oscar petting zoo. lol. I'll have 6 and a jaguar cichlid. Pretty soon there will be more oscars than catfish. Smaller ones will probably end up being catfish chow sooner or later. I feel better now that I got to work on the tank some today. Tomorrow's the wife's birthday so no go on the tank build!

If you ever creep over to WA, I've got a big Pacu you can have for your tank. Rescued it the other day from a lady who had 2, one was dead when I got there. The filter hadn't been on for 3 weeks and the house was unoccupied and not heated. I'd say the water was about 50-55 when I was there. Didn't even know I was going to get a Pacu. I went to look at the tank that was for sale......

Doesn't everyone love an oscar petting zoo? I've got 6 now going on 50. lol. Everyone dumps their oscars on me. I'd have 8 right now, but within 24 hours of being in clean water I had two kick the bucket that unfortunately had lived out their lives in a 30 gal and a 55 gal. Both were over 10 years old also.

I have documented it, but I'm too tired to gather it right now!
 
Yeah word's out and I've been getting about an oscar per week. Luckily that's about the only monster fish sold here besides ID sharks, plecos, and pacu, but most of those don't survive. Oscars are pretty tough. ID sharks are always stunted everytime I see them.
