Thanks for you comentary. My web site are under construction still and I need to upload many many pictures, something videos and more information about my fish tanks, my projects, etc.

What bodies of water do you guys catch your fish at? Are there any rivers/lakes that have all of these species that I would like to keep: Jaguars, Blackbelts, Sajica, Convicts, and Nicaraguas? If I could narrow my biotope to a single body of water that would be great!

yes man you can catch those species in Costa Rica, for example the Jaguar, Vieja, Nicaraguensis are from the north and atlantic zone in my country, and you can find those in the rivers and lakes too, sincerely i dont have experience to catch those , but chris is an expert , because he all of the weekends go to catch a costarrican fish in special cichlids.

Thanks Jaen, I realize they can all be found there in Costa Rica.

I was wondering if all of those fish live in the same river. Can Jags, Nics, Cons, and Vieja all be found in the Sarapiquí, San Carlos, and Río Frío, Rivers in the Northern Zone?

Chris where do you catch your fish at?

It is great to have you guys as resources!! Gracias

I catched in Arenal river, La Muerte river, Burro river and others in San Carlos (north zone) many fishes, Theraps Underwoodi, Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis, Astatherus Alfari, Archocentrus Septemfasciatus, Archocentrus Nigrofasciatus, Agonostomus Monticola, Hipostomus Panamensis, Herotilapia Multispinosa, Parachromis Doovi, Awaous Banana, Pimelodella Chagresi, Amphillopus Citrinellum, Amphillopus Rostratus, Brycon Guatemalensis, Neetroplus Nematopus.

In Guapiles, in the atlantic zone, I catched Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis and Parachromis Friedrichsthalli in the private farm, in a lake.

Excellent, PURA VIDA.

I recomended this book http://books.google.com/books?id=MQ...C8D35&sig=5QP-xYzFkt72yG93VrmAd0_YnWI#PPA1,M1

I think is the best book about our fishes. It is very complete.

I buy it here in the Universidad de Costa Rica, but I think maybe you can buy in amazon.
