Great thread. Just read through all the comments and I'm looking forward to the outcome of your tank. And as everyone's mentioned, that eel is really, really awesome. May be too late for my two cents, but I would cut the heck out of the wood and reassemble in the tank, but the pressure of 180 gallons if you remove or cut the brace is a lot of weight...

alright sorry guys but this took so long but i have the drift wood finally secured in there. Ill get pics up tonight , the tannis leeched a little but its not to bad. My purple light is helping it look no so green/tea colored
still not finished but my texas got beat up really bad then caught a dissease i have been treating 
it lost the pretty blue color from the lights but once the tannis leaves it should be back. hopefully this wont take years
