180 Gallon & Ornate Bichir

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hujeta gars don't get very thick for one, and I've never seen one that large personally.. Which probably means their growth is very slow. Depending on your ornates growth, he or she may outgrow and consume the gar. And ornates have the potential to grow At least 1.5x (for CB) and 2x (for WC) the length of the a hujeta, not to ,emotion how thick they get. If that's not enough to deter you, depending on the cichlid, which are usually greedy and fairly predatory, they have fairly large mouths, a hujeta is perfect to fit right down their mouth. You may think it's to fast for them, but once night time comes it'll likely be all over.

I did some more research on some new species and I came up with this possibly overstocked stocking list.
1. ornate bichir
1.BGK
5. geopahgus
1. rainbow shark
2. Hujeta gars
1. Oscar or other show cichlid
This list could be totally out of wack but I thought it look really nice, any feedback is much appreciated

I would be concerned with the rainbow shark also. They don't tend to get large enough around to stop them from becoming a meal to a large ornate or Oscar.
