In the woods
Here's a couple of pics of my 180. I decided to go fish only. I don't really like the look of the live rock. I did use live sand. I'm going to plumb it to a 29 gallon refugium with cheato (sp). My first fish is the ever popular volitan lionfish.

a nice specimen..

i never really liked the look of FO's mostly cause every pic i've seen has bleached coral skeletons and lava rocks.. :P

lace rock would have to be my structure of coice.. or maybe texas holey rock..

but to each his own

p.s. chaeto(morph) ;)

had to take a while to cycle that thing nice lion though the decore is not my cup of tea

Love lionfish...if I ever go salt that would be my first fish, even if I couldn't keep anything else with it...just classic.

that tank would make a very nice reef tank, if you ever decided to switch it up down the road. Nice lion fish as well. what else do you plan on adding in to the system.

what else do you plan on putting in there? you could fit a nice angel fish i would sudjest a blueface they are just so attractive

I'm planning on adding an emperor angel, yellow tang, powder blue or brown tang, blue hippo tang and a huma.

Even though there are MANY benefits to having live rock I don't care for the look of it in a display tank. I may add a sump in the future w/live rock but I doubt I'll ever put it in the main tank. As a couple of others have said 'to each their own'.

Thanks for the comments. I have thought about a blue face angel but I have no experience with them.

you really should consider using live rock...it is a great natural filter for your tank and harbors a bunch of good little critters.

with some good aqua scape I think you would start to like it.
