In regards to a pump. If it were me I'd use something around 1600 GPH. Whatever you do, don't fear wet/dry filters. Once you go with one you'll never want to use a canister filter again. You can hide your heater in them and nothing compares in regards to bio-filtration.
Make a diy sump like I did for my 180. I used a 75 gallon tank I already had. It will perform better than one you buy. If you want to make one like mine send me a pm and I will tell you how to do it. It works great!
