The fish in the tank you are citing are not yet adult, a 600 gallon tank is being built for them at the moment. A 180 gallon would be too small for those fish permanently. If you wish to recreate other people's tanks, at least read their threads.

Pocel - read the linked thread.

As for your stock suggestions...
A 180 gallon is too small for a silver aro, let alone two. An adult tsn is almost as large as the tank you're planning (Unless you mean Brachyplatystoma tigrinus and not Pseudoplatystoma spp.). The bichirs are ok, though. For the planned stock, I suggest getting a bigger aquarium.

ronald021 - Eheim 2260 is not similar to an FX5 and an FX5 is not similar to a jebo or a sun sun. You get what you pay for.

You already have fish that will be way too big for that tank, so you are not double checking enough before buying. One arowana will outgrow that tank, You didn't specify so I am assuming it's a silver, which will hit 4' and you hve two of them. Those are two of the largest species of bichirs.

That tank in the pic is the kind of tank I don't like. A bare, overcrowded show tank that is just a status symbol or show off, it is not designed for the fish but for the owner. You need to get the largest tank possible and then accept its limitations. Adding fish that will grealty outgrow it is not in the best interest of the fish and sets a bad example for the hobby. I said something about this in the 'post pics of your show tanks' thread, but this is exactly why I said something. People see those tanks and think it is alright, when it is not. I am sorry this forum set a bad example for you and that your fish are now at risk.

Please focus on finding proper homes for at least the arowanas, then on sticking to your limitations. The last thing that should happen is adding more fish, especially more that will outgrow the tank.

It's not the forum's fault if a person is too ignorant to:
A) Form their own opinion
B) Read the entire thread
C) Read multiple threads
D) Try to make informed decisions

This kind of thread is proof enough of the OP's unwillingness to consider putting actual thought into the tank. A simple google search reveals that some of those fish cannot turn around in a tank of the said dimensions... I wish people would use google more.

i hate threads like this just give the guy the advice i think if you are going to upgrade get those fish would be a awsome tank

When there is a thread titled 'pictures of your show tanks' and half the tanks look like this and all that is said is 'nice tank' the forum is not not at fault. We need to speak up. I did speak up in the show tanks thread and one response was 'don't put down other people's tanks :('

We need to thoroughly set an example. The forum is for people to improve the care of their fish, no matter the experience level. Having tanks like that used as an example that less experienced aquarists try to copy is not beneficial to the fish.

While I don't agree with "the next level" and other similar ...., I believe you're fighting a moot war. And this particular tank that was quoted was actually a good, clean tank with impeccable fish health, with plans for more space. I'd stock it lighter, but that's just my view.

supergourami - advice was given, read the thread.

Leave out 1 aro and the tig
