180g suggestions

well i went to my lfs. saw some stuff that intrigued me. they had auratus, zebras, and some nice colorations in the assorted tanks. one that caught my eye was the blood red parrotfish, they were of nice size too. however, petsmarts part time weekend employees only know how to go by the headings of mixing semi aggressive with semi aggressive and community with community etc, so ill have to go to the more knowledgable lfs.

You know with a 180 gallon tank you could make a nice tank of peacocks also. Some are very nice. I have a parrot in one of my show tanks with yellow labs, long finned oscar, an oil cat, an upsidedown catfish and angelfish. They all get along great. 110 or more gallon hexagon tank. There are alot of options when mixing mbuna too. The more the better.

yeah, i like the mbuna alot. but that parrotfish really caught my eye, beautiful fish. im definitely sure that my other lfs has a better selection than petsmart (which is where i went....)(its convenient for small fish for my tank.... what can i say?). my other lfs carries piranhas, and even a fully grown flowerhorn, which is huge, but also comes with a hefty pricetag, also with an assortment of eels, freshwater and saltwater. im goin to my other lfs on thursday for information regarding mbuna and other cichlids, as the part time staff at petsmart arent much help, which i should really go there on weekdays when they have staff who know there stuff, but thats only if i get lucky and they are there. i could prolly put around 20-25 mbuna in that size tank couldnt i? (since they only get to 6", plus the advantage of less aggression.)

yeah it will prolly be overfiltered. plus some mbuna only get to about 4 inches, but im not sure if ill do any fish in there that get to a foot or so, if i did id do like two of different species. would it be a good idea to be overstocked in this sense?

so about 25 to 30 would work? i could get a big color variation going there. should i be worried about breeding in this tank?
