Outstanding fish and tank. Very well done!

I remember seeing your tank when you had the Umbee pair in there. Beautiful tank for sure and great looking geos.

Those are in fact 'Manaus". I had some a few years back and sold them:screwy: Another member on here has two of the group of eight I use to have - (Jgentry)

Fishman, can you recall the mans name that you got them from? I originally bought mine from a man in TX, I think his name was Paul Scarborough but I haven't seen or heard from him for a long time.

I would really like to get my hands on some more.:)

Same guy-probably from the same group of fish. Paul is a friend of mine who lives in Irving-goes by the moniker Arnold on dfwfishbox.com. Funny thing is that I actually had some a few years ago from this same group that were 3"-I got some 'altifrons' (wild) that actually were G. sp Tapajos II and I traded Paul those for some of these back then. I then got out of the hobby and sold them. He's had these for 3 years or so and grew them all up together.

Stunning altifrons. Definitely more yellow than I've ever seen on them.

Oh, and the fake root looks great, but as far as I'm concerned awesome aquascapes are just par for the course in your tanks by this point. I am curious what kind of paint you used on the concrete and whether you sealed it or just gave it lots of time to cure.

Thanks-I appreciate it. I used concrete dye. For the root, I used terra cotta, black and brown. For the rest, I used black and brown.

There is a link on cichlidforum.com that I followed to build this one almost 5 years ago. Its held up pretty well although Ill probably have to re cover it with concrete in a year or so.

As for curing-I cured it in briney water for about 10 days if I remember. I filled the tank with water, put 50lbs or so of pool salt in there and ran a couple of power heads for the time.

I bought your old Tapajos II, LOL. They were mean as hell!!! I eventually sold them all.

You know if Paul has any more Altifrons available?
