Perhaps I missed it... but didn't anyone pick up on the fact that we are not talking about albino... but leucistic... this is an awesome score either way but leucistic are always a risk because their coloring could always go back to normal

Yes.. this male is leucistic/platinum .. not many options to buy.. so whenever there is a color morphed wild one for sale..you have to jump on it :)

So the new lagoon thing you're planning on building.. How do you hear that big of a tank? Just heat up the whole room and add a couple heaters?

You are right...and I've had it happen! I had a luecistic wild caught rainbow darter that I collected myself, thought I hit the one in a million jackpot!! 9 months later he now looks exactly like the rest of my darters...real bummer. Was cool while it lasted tho!!

'Lazy river' :) I will heat the filter room to about 90 degrees... the filtration room will hold about 20% of the total water vol. which is the min. I need in order for the main tank to get to 82 degrees. I've tried this on a smaller scale and that seems to work.
