armatus BETTER!JMO.:naughty::drool::D
IMO armatus can be kept in something like that,GATF cant.
plus armatus look better,more attitude.
and they actually grow....
the problem with GATF is that they need a HUGE tank compared to other fish of the same size.
i could probably ID them at that size, with good pictures of course...
the best way to tell them all apart is head shape IMO.
so, GATF fit in better with bass, but armatus would be better in my situation? I'm a little confused. I'm not going to get either one right now unless I find an armatus mixed in w/ other payara and get it for cheap. I agree that armatus>atf

I'm trying to get a picture of it. It's "snout" isn't very elongated, but it doesn't have stripes and is pretty "silvery/shiny".

no,IMO GATF would work better ONLY because they arent aggressive like some armatus...
BUT if you have a non-aggressive armatus,it will do better because it can keep up in growth.;)
and IMO,armatus beats GATF any day...

i can only tell if you have a pic of the snout.
what kind of shape does it have?

IC

I'm not good at explaining those kind of things, lol. If I could see pix of different small ones' snouts, I could pick it out. I can't find too many though.

GATF IMO.
cool, thanks. I may post the pix up in other characins to get more opinions if you're not sure. I'm not going to get it, but I would like to let him know that it is one for sure. I'm going to wait a while and maybe get an armatus.

armatus are pretty much my favourite fish aside from pbass....
GET ONE!:headbang2

well, lost one of the piquiti :irked:

I hated to, but I didn't have anyone to cover for me so I hadn't checked on it or fed it for 24 hours. It was fine and eating yesterday at this time. It wasn't malnourished or anything...it had a small string of poop coming out. I didn't see any damage besides the caudal fin being eaten up a bit. I won't leave them that long again until they get bigger. Why couldn't it have been one of the other ones? :irked:

I'm so upset, it's 151 time, lol. and time to light a candle and listen to I Miss My Homies by Master P
