I would think two AC110 wouldn't handle a 180. At least not an MFK'er's tank.:D

lol.. true dat. i need to get a fx5 soon. anyone know any good deals?

I have an overstocked 180 that's being filtered by (3) AC110's, an XP3, and a homemade dual powerhead sponge filter.

nice. my tank is acrylic. there are only two slots for hob filters. so im going with 2 ac110, and 2 more cannister. how many powerheads do you have running? can u post some pics of ur setup?

The powerhead setup is (2) Aquaclear 70's that are plumbed into (2) AC110 sponges using pvc. The main reason I was using that, was to accommodate my loaches who love the current.

Here's an older pic, before I put the 3rd ac110 on the tank.

how do u keep the jardini with silver??? is the jardini half the size of the silver?

they are the same size. i rescued the aro from my brother in-law, he was punked by another aro same size. the aro is fully recovered. my jar isnt worried about the aro. he picks his fight with my cichla(10"-12"). everyone is happy for now.

beautiful tank. did you put both powerheads on the same side? or opposite? so u have a ac110 sponge at the intake of the powerhead. also i see u have inline tube added as well. how does that help? thanks bro

I originally designed this for a 55 gallon tank, where the intake sponges were on one side and the power heads were on the opposite side. I ran the pvc under the sand so it would be hidden. I ended up getting rid of the 55 and modified what I had to fit the 180. Now I just have the intake and powerheads all on the same side. I have to clean out the sponges about every 2 months. They get so clogged up that the powerheads will barely work. lol

I had the air pump going to the powerhead just to agitate the water surface. I now just have a large air disc instead.
