i think that bgk's and ck are in different genus's/families and that might makea difference. one way of noticing that they anre closely related is the fact that ck's (and ABK's) live in africa, while bgk's (and i think glass knives) live in S/A.

You are right raz they are of different regions and genus...But i think i read somewhere that all knife species have this electrical bladder or something like that similar to that of the electric catfish, but not to that extent and which gives particularly the clown knife (chitala species) the ability to hunt during nightime in total darkness by using electrical waves to pinpoint their prey and ive even heard that the ck gives of a slight electrical charge that momentarily for a fraction of a second stuns its prey...I might be wrong though i just cant remember where i read it...:)

I've had a couple in the same tank since size 4 inches, they're now 23 inches and doing fine. One dominates the other, so that one is a couple inches smaller in size but they're both still going strong.

All three of mine have been together for almost 6-8 months with no problems, occasionally during feeding times the royal and golden butt heads but other than that they all hang out together

What are you feeding them?

JeffC, they love nightcrawlers, krill, and especially hikari sinking carnivore pellets

nice, I think when my CK get bigger I'll get a RCK too.:headbang2

I tried to comm a 11" BGK & 12" clown together but clown bullied him all the time. In a 4ft tank. Separation is the best for this pair.
