2 green terrors in a 55 gallon tank?

dont bash me im just asking but y couldnt u keep a fish that maxes at 8" in a 12" tank? it can fully turn around. i have a bigger tank so i dont have this prob but i think a single 8" fish would be alright

A single, fully grown 8" fish in a 12" wide tank isn't all that bad....but isn't optimal. For perspective, would you want to live in a 4' wide room? You can turn around in a prison cell, but I wouldn't call it spacious! I realize that a reasonable comparison, but I am just saying....

A 8 inch fish will do fine in a 55 gallon,but if you think about it,these cichlids become bulky.So I can see why people prefer larger tanks to home these sort of fishes.

ya that makes sense, thats y i went w/ the 80 gal, couple inches wider..... for the OP how bout a female salvini and some firemouths

I wouldn't do that. Salvini, are WAAAY too agressive for firemouth's. I have a 4in female that is was the dominant fish in the tank with 4 midas one of them bigger and bulkier than her and she still punked them all. Nasty little fish.

I might do that. I had just been thinking about putting the green terrors or jack dempseys in their own tank and since someone was just giving me this tank I figured I'd see if it'd work for fish I already have. Could someone tell me if 2 jack dempseys would be too much. I guess I'd assume so since I think they get over 8 inches. One is an electric blue though. Thanks.

Salvini will destroy firemouths with ease,i have one that chases the firemouth a bit out of her cave,the only one that stands up to my salvini is my female convict. That are the same size
