What are these two fish? I think the first one is a JD because my other JD is showing interest and they're waving tails at each other. Sorry for bad pics.

I kind of thought it was a convict, I wasn't sure though. Thanks.

They had another fish that was the same as the texas except bright red. I almost got one but they were sort of small. Should I go get a red texas as well?

The texas and JD are going in a 75 once it's set up. The convict will go into a 20 once it's disinfected and probably with another convict :P

Could 2 texas and a JD work in a 75g? I'm not sure about it because the texas get bigger than a JD and I don't know if they'd team up on him?

oh no Texas are a hella mean maybe a pair of Texas I mean maybe I would go jd pair and convict pair then your set

So if I just left it how it is with JD and texas that wouldn't work in a 75g?
Or is it enough space for them to be O.K.

just depends on the fish, if the texas has no problem with the JD personally, they will be fine. that is physically enough space though, yes.

also, it may just be me, but that looks like it could be a blue texas, an "escondido"

i have an escondido juvie right now, gorgeous fish.

Male convict for sure too

looks like a red texas, and a convict forsure.
the texas might be a regular texas, i'm no expert though.

Yeah I think it's a blue as well. It's crazy how I look at what this fish looks like now, then adult pictures on the internet :O they change a lot...

I think the JD has a more a problem with the texas than the texas does with the JD.
So far my JD just flares his gills... Hopefully it doesn't get too heated over the next couple days :O
It's funny because the JD is about 1/2 the size yet he's all in the fight. He just looks so tiny lol.

Is it normal for convicts to be stressed longer than regular fish when introduced into a new tank?

EDit: I've been guilty of this more than once.. But I saw these fish in a tank and it said all So. American fish 7$ (Convict isn't worth that but oh well) and these fish caught my eye.. They had a jaguar cichlid as well but I couldn't house one of those :P
