My elder brother told me that a while ago, when they were receiving a couple of huge 40 inch electric eels from a fisherman, one tourist guy and his girlfriend came close to the boat and asked if this was true that those eels can produce such strong electric shocks.
It seems he didn’t believe this, or he was just trying to show his braveness to his girlfriend.
Suddenly he jumped into the boat and before any of the people around was able to warn him, he tried to take the largest piece in his hands; and of course, he got a strong electric shock that throw him down to the water.
He almost drowned and his girlfriend could not stop laughing.
He won’t forget that electric eels are “electric”…

Hehe when I was in college we went to a party and the guy had an electric cat. Tank was probably a 30G. Anyway one of the guys is checking out the fish and he's like "cool fish, what is it" and the owner goes "electric catfish". "No way, is it really electric?" "Yeah" "You're lying! I wanna touch it." At this point I jump in hoping to avoid the inevitable. "Dude he's not lying, it's an electric cat and it will zap you" "BS" he says and sticks his hand in. Zzzap! Yeah he won't do that again :) Not as strong as an e. eel thankfully.
