2 New baby Aros

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well I ended up buying a new another arowana....needless to say the bigger one of the three continued to pick at the smaller ones....He killed one.....down to two now....i cant find a tank divider...any suggestions on what to do so i dont lose the other one also.

Ohh and for a divider, you can use mesh screen, ummmm pretty much anything that can divide a tank with holes in it, egg crate. Screen. Ect be creative.

Ohh and maybe you should of read up a little more on arowana before you just went out and bought 2 of them you know. You need a minimum of 240 gallon tank for life and thats to house 1 arowana, if you want a community your looking at about 300 gallons.

i understand justin but you have to start somewhere and progress... when the time comes i will upgrade to a larger tank.

Besides what was mentioned I would suggest small crickets gut loaded with flakes and carrots and mealworms. Like some here mine also eat flakes.

dividers can be made of anything, try to get one that the fish can see through because it will get them used to their tank mate safely, when they stop challenging each other through the divider, it means they may be ready to mix. be aware though, that arows are aggressive fish and only get more aggressive as they get bigger.

bloodworms and krill.. still very young and delicate.. give them lots of hiding places for they are very skittish at that stage..

thanks guys for all the input....other than the fighting i love the guys....one seems to be growing up nice and fast....while my other one not so nice and not so fast:shakehead

if you dont want them to fight, add more silvers.. about 4 so they would total 6.. it would lessen their agression levels.. good luck!
