  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
W/C specimen or is it farm bred? Farm bred have a tendency to develope it more. good luck the aro looks great and two w/o drop eye is a rare site now a days.

The weird thing is that even aros in tanks like johnptc's and arapaimag's get it. I'm thinking maybe something in the water.

Honestly have no clue on either I raised....I would tend to say Farm....One was donated to me (pictured above) and one I picked up at the 3 inch mark from my LFS and grew it to the 30+ inch mark in just over 2.5 years.....

Nah--
I bet it's all the preds that are in the tank with them......The aro has a constant worry (no matter the size)

Everyone that I have personally seen that cohabs aro's always want them with the preds......Big mistake IMO....

What about aros in the amazon. Preds 24/7, murky water, unknown dangers. The aros in johns and arapaimags tanks are bigger than everything but the pimas. I still think it's something in the water

Thats the wonderful part of this hobby-No one knows for sure.....Keeps us all guessing.....

The wild can never be recreated......No matter how many gallons one is working with...

what about the aros in zoodiver's tanks? Those are hundreds of thousands of gallons of amazon-like water? I wonder if those have DE
