This is not the action of two silver aros about to fight. I've seen two silvers go at it and it looked nothing like this. As I said before my silvers do this occasionally yet in the 20 plus months they have been together never have they had a quarrel.

They were fighting! There's not enough space for them to launch at each other, so they just swim in circle and taunting each other. That's the best they can do at the space with the long bodies they have.

Oh, OK:screwy:

Like I said I've seen silver fight. They don't "launch". They attack by biting the lower mid body of the other silver(or black). But I'm sure you do know better, as you usually believe.

Of couse I'm sure you have also seen silvers court and spawn, and so you can discount these actions of being either, right?

You two can't tell the different of biting (mouth movement) and launching (body movement)? :screwy: Of course, aros bite when they fight, as most fish bites when they fight! :screwy: But we are talking about body movement here! :duh: Tell me if these two aros bite, or bite and launch, or courting?

I'm glad you can tell the difference. Now, go back and read my previous post about due to the space and size, the silvers can't launch at each other, but swimming in circle. Of course, you have not seen two silvers launching at each other when they fight, since you keep two silvers in the 180 gallon tank with a bunch of other fish. That's the reason when people wants to comm aro, they keep the tank crowded to minimize the fighting. Here the same tank with same fish when it was crowded. No fighting!

Wonderful pics of wonderful fish, this still has nothing to do with the actions of the silver aros in question. Now as your argument may hold true for my two aros, it does not for the OPs. They are under 20" and in a tank that is 6' wide and 3' deep, more then enough room for your so called launching.

:iagree: on the launching but not 100% on the comm of aros. well for silvers, if you are lucky you can comm 2 together without any tank mates.
