Notice their throat puffed out? They're upset at each other. They're not fighting, but that's the begining of a fight. In a normal condition, arowana swim from end-to-end of tank, not circulating, and chasing each other

Yes they are not fighting but sizing each other up who's going to be the boss. They are not planning on breeding as they are only 19" and not even fully mature yet.
 
I would say they are definitely sizing each other up.

My asian red and SA black did this.

yeah they seem to be sizing each othe up for the most part. if they really wanted to duke it out it would matter much about space.
and also, has there been documented info on silvers's breeding behavior?
all i read so far is swims in circle, maybe their breeding behavior might be diff from asians in tthat they swim in circles? who knows.... for the time being it still a mystery.
