2 Tiny Black Aro's with yoke sacks

Doh, I new this luck was going to be too good to be true. Oh well. I guess $7.00 out of pocket for each Aro isn't too bad of a deal in the end.

AquataHolic420 - Yes I'm hungry, hadn't had my breakfast yet. Nothing wrong with the silvers just prefer Blacks. If these were two Blacks I was going to put them, once they were large enough in my 300gal with my other Black Aro and see if I could house them together. I might think of just growing them out and seeing if I can house one of them with my Black Aro.

Oh well, thanks everyone for killing my dream, just kidding. Now back to searching for a juvie Black Aro.
 
They are Silvers, but Silvers are magnificent fish! They are more regal, more imposing, than blacks. ( I have blacks and I have silvers, and none takes the place of the others ). What I mean is, cherish them, raise them, and watch them turn themselves into some very interesting fish.:)

I would suggest that at a later stage you put both of them with the black you already got, since 2 aro's only is a recipe for disaster. 3 tends to make the relationship more manageable, and more the better..Enjoy!!:)

How's the gar you posted about a couple of months ago?
 
Miguel - Thanks. I have some P-bass I am growing out and was thinkin of putting them in the 300 with the Black Aro and if I add two more Silver Aros, I don't want to over stock the tank. This is kinda my dilemma, I can always look at upgrading to a larger tank, but I wanted to go with a 10Lx4Wx2.5T. I decided if I go big, I would go real big, it would just be really difficult to get through the door.

Gar is doing good, he is eating pellets and with the P-bass he is able to compete for food since they are about the same size. I call him Nemo since he is missing one front fin. I'll see if I can take some pics tonight a post them.
 
Wow, I just read this thread for the first time. The babies are so adorable. Generally, they absorb the sac then you start feeding.

This is very difficult raising fry from their size. They have a 30% survival rate.

I know there's a food Cichlid Gold. it's baby pellets, floating, carnivore type. They are about the size of a tiny poppy seed.

If that isn't possible, break and presoak adult pellets for 3-4 ,inch before you feed, or he can't get it down. Be consistant, if he doesn't eat in 15 mins or shown interest, remove all the food and try again a few hours later, etc.

You may graduate to baby crickets, bloodworms or tiny pieces of prawn.

Nice little guys......like everyone said. If you look at the pix....the black stripe is opposite with the black. Anyhow, $7 bucks each, still a good price.
 
Well both little guys died over the weekend. So its back to hunting for a couple Black Aros again.
