okay let me start by saying that 2year olds and fish dont mix well
i mean they are so fasincated by them that they are constantly trying to feed them even when we are not looking and it so happens that today her little mission was accomplished.

well what i am figuring out is that while everybody was sleeping she woke up around 6 in the morning to so this and actually used her head very well
turns out she couldnt find the fish food so she decided to head for the turtle food which is pretty high up so she climbed up onto the bed grabbed the turtle food then walked all the way to my fish tanked grabbed a chair climbed up that then decided to not just feed them turtle food but pour the whole contents of the container into the tank and not tell anybody about wat she just did till i get home like 6 hours later and find this horrible swamp which it turned into and a couple fish were dead now , i started bagging up all the fish and transporting them to my other tank while slowly duing 25% water changes to save their lives and it worked pretty nicely noone else died but now since i had to clean out there whole tank im scared to put them back in so im heading out to get some cycle and stress coat and about how long should i wait till i put them back because they cannot stay in my other tank the fish in there will have them for lunch so any advice will be greatly appreciated

my daughter is gonna be5 and i still have baby monitors ;) I learned the first time when she was 2 and dumped a whole container of tetra min in the tank. I only had to 3 fish losses but they were th fish i had just gottn after paying $25 in shipping :(

what i did is i got my 3 year old her own tank so when i feed my fish she feeds hers at the sametime its worked out so far.......:headbang2

kids will be kids... but at the same time... cages can be locked :)

(no i dont have kids or any plans to have kids)

When we feed the fish in the pond (now in a stock tank in the basement), I give her the food she's allowed to feed them. We watch the fish eat and maybe feed them more. I've been lucky that she's not tried to feed them on her own.

Cool. Maybe hook up an alarm to go off when their lid goes up.There's so much more surprises to come.

That's a good idea, all though it might get annoying everytime YOU go to feed or do a w/c.
