Or at least some measurable mark inside the tank to go by. And preferably not at a weird angle, from a distance, in the dark that someone else told you about.
okay okay so your saying if i put an oscar in 1 500g 8x4 he's going to be 20" or more? i think this has to do more with genes that anything else
dang 29g for a 13" fish? i feel sorry for that o, but it think most people here agree that a 75g is enough for a 12-13" oscar because lets be honest most oscars only get to that size, but if people wanna put a sigle on in a 180 then they should feel free tooscars size and tank size have little to no relation at all.. a few years ago my girlfriends mom wanted an oscar tank so i set up a 75 and i found an oscar on craigslist for her... it was 13" overall and grew up in a 30x12x18h 29 gallon. its tail was curled trying to turn around in the tank, and the owner said he changed 5 gallons of water once a month. the oscar had a bad case of hith but it eventually cleared up.
