20 Long MN tank

I am in the works of planning my first native US tank. My size limit is a 20 gallon so might as well go 20 long. I’m wondering what pumps to use for my manifold design. I’m planning to stock an Orangespot sunfish, 3 rainbow darters,
4-5 Johnny darters and 5-6 Sand shiners. Hardscape will be larger rocks on the power head side with one power head being up higher for a slack lower area in front. A sand gravel mix will be the substrate with maybe a few sprigs of dwarf hair grass. There will be sponges on the end caps of the manifold and possibly an aquaclear 50 filer between the powerheads.

Have you considered Pygmy sunfish and ranshorn snails as well?

I have a power head on the left on the rocks and a aquaclear 50 in the middle of the 20 long Plan on improving the current in the future.

Have you considered Pygmy sunfish and ranshorn snails as well?

No and I don’t want to mess with live foods. And dwarf Sunny’s are Minnesota native

Okay so ditch the manifold and put a single power head with an aqauclear filter and s that’s it? Maybe I’ll have a 70 instead of a 50 or a 50 and 2 powerheads?

Alright, I’ve never set one up before so this will be fun. Did I also mention it’s going in my dorm? What brand of powerheads would you recommend?

Tbh I had the power head in my aquarium spare parts box. Bigfishnut or Deadliestviper7 may have some brands in mind.

Stock sounds fine, as long as your powerhead isn't to stirong it shouldn't matter much, just make sure you don't get micro bubbles
