20" Royal has cloudy eyes bad. One is worse then other.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i cant change ph due to my other fish in the tank.

my friends ph is 7.2

What is the stock? How did you acclimate it? These fish are relatively hardy, but give us more info about your tank.

Definately list your current stock. Maybe you could acclimate the whole tank to a higher Ph. There are easy ways to maintain a higher Ph if your water is naturally acidic.

Do you have a quarantine tank you could set up for him?

i could move him to my 90 gallon tsnk which dont have alot in it. maybe ill do that. but whats in my 300 is nothing but catfish. rtc, tsn, hybrid, granny and some plecos. how can i keep the ph higher then 6.0 without hurting my fishe?

I keep mine up with holey rock/limestone. Easier than having to add chemicals which can wear off, and get expensive. Driftwood will lower the Ph also.

What is the Ph of the water coming right from the faucet? (assuming this is where the water for water changes comes from.)

How long have you personally had the 90 gallon set up? Reading your post http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376163

I couldn't tell if it came established, or what you did setting it up etc. How long has it been running?

90 has been running for months. ph from water is 7.0. but both my tanks are 6.0 and have never changed.

I moved the royal to the 90 and its kind of too small for him so I dont think its a good idea to keep him in there. He is almost alone because i got four small catfish in there with him. he is the biggest thing. what you guys think?

i can add salt to my 90 and up the temp alot easyer then the 300. so i guess thats a plus if anything.

Dang that was a fast move. When I had to catch my RTC it took way longer than 20 minutes to catch him and move him. Did you acclimate him to the new tank?

yes he is acclimateing now. he deff will be the biggest in the tank. he was very easy to catch.
