thats what i was wondering. if petsmart sold some. how much for my 300 gallon?

I would start by upping your water change routine to 25% every week instead of once a month. Adding holey rock, or limestone, or dead coral will raise the ph, but don't just dump a bunch in or you will shock the tank. Start with a few pieces, and test your water a week later. It won't change overnight.

were can i find dead coral? or just use like 20lbs of crushed coral and mix it with my pool filtyer sand?

were do i find holey rock and limestone?

Local fish stores will carry both. Petsmart I believe will only carry crushed coral.Look on craiglist to see if any one is selling any. make sure you cure it before you put it in your tank. I boil my rocks for a about 20 minutes (if they fit in a pot) or I soak them in rubs outside for a few days to make sure it doesn't leach anything. It helps get dirt out of nooks and crannies.

i just got off the phone with a close friend who does big fish tanks and fish. he thinks its because im only doing a water change every month instead of every week. so instead of putting in coral or cc i should do weekly water changes. does that make sence? my tap water is 7.0 so i should be fine there.

every sat im doing a water change from now on. my friend said that will deff help and maintain it. he says if i do a 25% water change once a month my 7.0 tap water will be reduced to 6.2 to 6.0 within 3 to 4 weeks because of my big fish and monthly water changes. so im going to deff do weekly changes.

I was going to suggest bumping up your water change routine. That should help raise your pH and keep it more stable.

yah im going to bump them up. makes more sence then adding marco rock or crushed coral and some type of saltwater substrate.
