any other suggestions? i was thinking about adding 2 knife fish 1 elephant nose knifefish and 1 trumpet knifefish would they be good with the dats oscars and polys?

(this is not official just a page to get some ideas going) so right now other than the polys i'm thinking about some datnoids (how many could i get?), knife fish (not sure on the species), and possibly a fire eel (not sure on this one). As far as the knife fish i was thinking a CB clownknife i heard they don't get as big as the WC ones. Any other suggestions?

Hey Dr. B if you want knife fish look into glass knifefish they only get 8" long and they school and are social very cool fish in fact I just ordered 3 today. If you want a cool top dwelling look at the African butterfly fish very cool looking. Let me know what you think I want to see your tank set up once your finished

yeah it may be a month or so till i get it set up fully. We have to rearrange furniture because the only open space we have now is an a week spot in the foundation (not week but it not the best place for a 2,000+gallon tank). Also It was previously a saltwater tank and right now i am trying to cycle it and get the salt out. At the same time we are trying to fix all the leaks from moving/reconnecting the piping to the sump/refugium. NOt to mention we haven't even thought about lights or sand yet. So we are a little ways away on the visual side of things, but we are pretty much done other than moving the tank from the garage to the room in a couple weeks. As far as knife fish i was thinking mainly on the lines of an elephant nose knife fish or a tiger knife fish. And african butterfly's just aren't my type of fish tbh

African leaf fish would look nice, and would get along great. The Oscars would raise your bioload really high. One of the smaller species of knife fish possibly, or angel fish.

a lil school of red tail barracudas cruising around the top middle area would be cool! or yellow, or hujeta

hujeta gar are very pretty and stay at the top at least as I've seen

a ropefish would round out your polypteridae collection nicely, and my friends tends to wrap himself around plants and stuff in the middle and top most of the time

I've recently seen some videos of fahaka puffers being commed w/ bichir, idk if you want to take that kind of risk though haha

there are some neat mormyrids out there that may interest you too
