You guys should learn how to take good "normal" pics before messing with HDR.

;)
properly exposing a cloudy sky while retaing all the landscape details is beyond me at this point lol. i dont see how you can do it, and i've tried all sorts of exposures :wall:

unless you shoot in RAW and do a bunch of processing, then it's really no different than HDR ;)

LOL... i got a monopod... does that count? LOL

No. You still get a purple nurple. I'll ask Joey to deliver it.

You mean like this shot, Jose? :D This where better glass and body show their value. And almost no serious processing in RAW either. ;)

^ yes, like that awesome handheld shot!! :wall:

see i tend to think that shots when it gets darker are a little easier, since i can use a tripod and get nice results. but my thing is shooting during daylight, when its cloudy outside. i always have a problem with either blowing out the sky, or blowing out the colors of the landscape/subject/etc...

8K in gear and you're still without a tripod. You deserve a purple nurple for that.

:WHOA: I would love a nice camera so I could get into this stuff myself but I'm sure not spending that kinda doe!

you dont need to! you can get a great entry-level DSLR with a kit lens for around $500. when you think about it, its just a couple hundred bucks more than a crappy point n shoot that takes pics no better than a cell phone :)
