see i tend to think that shots when it gets darker are a little easier, since i can use a tripod and get nice results. but my thing is shooting during daylight, when its cloudy outside. i always have a problem with either blowing out the sky, or blowing out the colors of the landscape/subject/etc...

Check out the ND filters, bro. ;)

yeah i sure will! do i really need a full assortment of all the ND filters types? or will one or two do just fine? i need to read up on these

There are many different types. Do some reading. :)

ok question, do you use the square piece that mounts to your lens or the screw-in type? i was reading ken rockwell's site and he says the screw-in are better as the others are too clusmy.

and he said if youre going to get one only, get the 2 stop 0.6 ND Grad....
 
I don't use any, Jose. ;) I'm just that good. lol

But seriously, I had the 2 stop for my dx lenses. I'm waiting to get my 14-24mm f/2.8 before buying any. I'll be using that lens for landscapes and that's where I'll be using ND filters. Even then, I'll need the square ones because the 14-24mm has a bulbous lens that won't allow screw on types. :)
