Okay, so ive been trolling craigslist like every night...checking garage sales every weekend...

My ultimate plan is to get a silver aro, an ornate poly, and possibly some other aggressives..

This weekend i'm getting a 110 high from my family member for free...and i figured that would be a good way to start, however i KNOW that this won't hold the aro for long : / which reallllly bums me out...

So during my patrolling on craigslist i found a 210 gallon that is in good shape according to the owner, besides for the fact that it needs new black trim on the top of the tank...which he said should cost 30$.. no cracks, no scratches, no leaks...just needs new trim..

comes with 2-400 watt heaters, and two filters that both suck..a tetra whisper 40 or something, and a biowheel 70...so i would have to buy a new filter that is actually sufficient...and it comes with gravel that is hot pink and yellow....which i will just throw it away....BUT ANYWAYS...he is asking 250$ obo...what do you guys think...

from everything ive been saying lately i believe it is an AWESOME price...but i figured i'd check in with the monster guys first to get some more output...

the next issue being where do i even put a 6 foot tank if i get it : / lol

I paid $250 for my 220. Mine was tank, stand, sump, puump, and plumbing. Everything but the lights. The Heaters sound good, filters are junk, gravel sounds like an eyesore. Does it come with a stand? Either way its a killer price if you ask me. Good luck. I hope u can get it. I'm assuming its 72x24x29(ish)
 
the add said 84x24x25...which i just threw in the calculator and it said almost 220... so maybe thats what im looking at...

Mine is just tank, heaters, filters, small air pump...which won't suffice..hood..and t8 lighting..
no stand, no sump...
so at the end of it all id have to get new substrate, new lighting, new filtration, new air pump/powerhead, new stand....etc etc..
 
yeah i was going for the 1$ a gallon idea...so thats 220 for the tank..and 30 for everything else...maybe ill try 200...have to run it by the parents first lmao..college student still at home... : /
but i reallllly want it hahaha thanks for the input guys
 
got another email from the dude, he said he wasnt going to drop to 200 quite yet...so i guess i have to wait or shoot the 250 : /

He just emailed me back, saying pretty much that he doesn't want it any more..and i'm one of two people who is actually serious about getting it...
the other guy doesnt respond to emails as fast as i do lol
unfortunately i got a ticket at 10pm for speeding...so that is another expense that is going to draw me back a little bit...
but the guy said you know what, he knows how that feels lol..he is going out of town tomorrow for a week, and told me...in two weeks he will charge me 200$ for it, with all of the extras he has...as long as i can get it out of the house on that day...because it is just taking up room and he needs the money asap.

My only problem being, it wont be filled when i arrive, so i am just going by his word that it is not leaking....But once in my possession if everything checks out, i will have to buy new black trim for the top...anyone know where i might be able to acquire black top trim for a tank for cheap ??

Hopefully i can get the money in time, and that this whole thing works out for me...i would love to have this tank, for fish...and not reptiles lol so no cracks..*fingers crossed*
 
I've got a 55 gal missing the top trim, instead of putting that on I built a hood for it that covered the top inch.25 and had a cross piece of a 1"x1" that I gorilla glued/screwed in and that stops in from bowing in the center. So it does the same as the black trim and I have a nice hood! I can post some pics of that if you want for ideas. just my 2 cents. otherwise congrats on the deal!

According to those dimensions thats a 265 gallon tank not a 220 which is an even better deal.
