Is the NGT the only fish?

Currently: Yes.
But: A 14.5'' Gold-Line Knife is waiting in quarantine :D (see HERE)

Simple yet interesting and beautiful. Great Job! Real Plants?

What do you have for filtration?

Yes, real plants.
Anubias barteri 'angustifolia' (blooming right now)
Anubias barteri barteri 'Broad Leaf'
Crinum natans
Echinodorus ozelot
Echinodorus tenellus
Hydrocotyle leucocephala
Sagittaria subulata
Shinnersia rivularis

Filtration: Eheim 2080 (but read HERE) with prefilter socks over the outlets. Heavily supported by an AquaClear 70 powerhead, filtering thru a Hydro-sponge V. Water is crystal clear now.

what kind of background is that? is it DIY if so how do you make them?

what kind of subtratse is that? sand or gravel and do you know the name of it?

hands down for the set up...come out nicely. im loving it man.

Thanks. The background is indeed DIY: Get paper/cardboard the size of the back of your tank. Spray construction foam (polyurethane) on it, let cure. This way, you create a 3D background - your sculpturing skills are the limit. Paint with oil-based paint and let the colors flow into each other. Use brown and green, but also bright yellow (sparingly). It looks real natural  I do it for all of my tanks, even the 10 gal . LOL.

Substrate 3M Colorquartz S-grade, mix of 3 types, 2/3 black
