2200 gal tank setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Steve, I would go with pool filter sand. It's cheap, good looking, and easy to keep clean.

Your filtration plans sound great, but be ready to up the drip if needed! lol.

I like the pool filter sand idea. I can't wait to see this thing in person.

So, are you cutting a whole in your wall to get it in your fish room, or are you going to be adding on to your fish room around the tank?

Also, have you thought about a fluidized bed filter?

i would think a mix of large and small river rocks would look best on that scale

I would stay away from gravel just because of how hard it would be to clean it. If you have some flow on the bottom of the tank the crap and uneaten food will not get trapped with sand.

Someone thought that MT snails would be good for keeping the sand turned.

I'm a little concerned that the MTS would get out of hand.

I saw some small rock at the wholesaler 1/16"-1/8" and thought about mixing it with sand.

2200? That is huge. Awsome pick up.
