220g stand build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well , here is how i dealt with the floor level issue . when i designed this stand i did so knowing the floor was not level . what i was not prepared for is not only was the floor out of level . it was not flat either . so i bolted the bottom frame to the floor pulling the frame flush to the floor then raised or lowered the top frame to be perfectly level , then cut each one of the outer suppurts ( the ones actually supporting the weight ) individually , so the end result is a stand with a perfectly level structure . i got help coming at 4:oo tomorrow to help get this beast on the stand....

thanks again for all the suggestions
Scott

Looking good so far!

P.S. Title fixed.

well , i didnt get anymore done today . i was thinking about maintainance on this set up , i normally paint the back of my tanks but this wont be an option with this one as the only access will be from the back . so i will have to figure out an easy to remove and replace background ( i hate the pictuer BG's ) i may have to settle for this type . i also plan to put rigid styrofoam panel around the back to help insulate . i was thinking of painting one of these but when i tested this idea the paint melts the styrofoam .
any ideas ? ...........

Looking good so far.
You could paint the styrofoam insulation for your background. Make it easily removable for servicing. Cover all the tank in the garage with insulation to minimize the heat loss.
What are the dimensions of your tank?
