220g stand build

ok , i finally have a day off !! after working 16hrs yesterday . i am going to work on plumbing and lighting today . hopefully i will be able to fill this beast this weekend
 
more progress this weekend , i got my light done (still need to paint the outside ). the nice thing about this is if i decide to add more wattage i can just add more sockets .
total to date on this fixture

1/4" plywood = had it leftover from another project
1"x2"x8' = $3.75
10"x10' roof flashing = $6.60
12awg wire =$4.30

total =$14.65

I don't think 2X4's is the way to go, you don't know a welder that can build you a stand?
You can also try to level your floor with self leveling concrete that you can get at home depot.

Why not 2x4's? People have build stand for much larger tanks than 220g with 2x4's.... They are plenty strong enough.

Plus, he's already taken care of the issue, bolting the stand to the floor, and then leveling the top separately from the bottom.
 
todays progress : finished painting the background and got it attached it to the tank , finished painting the light fixture and hung it over the tank , and ........started to "fill it up" .... about 1/3 full now .....this is about as fun as watching paint dry ....lol
