225 GALLON FRESHWATER IN WALL SETUP BEGINS.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very nice looking tank.....i just have one suggestion to alliveate any future issuues. i noticed on your stand that the entire top of the stand is basically being held onto the legs by jsut nails. this means that your 1800pds + is only being supported by those nails. I suggest cutting some 2X4's and mounting them on the outside of your current legs so that the top frame will then rest directly on the new 2X4's

I was going to do that i just wanted to finish the wall first.. on the other hand that picture does show nails but there are (3) 6 1/2"
new construction type screws that need no pre drilling and they have a special bit to screw them in. They are rated for some huge amount of weight. Thanks for reminding me to cut the boards for the stand. I will do that A.S.A.P

Well here is todays progress on the wall.
Remember i have never done this before.
What do you think?100_1062.JPG

It's looking pretty good Ron. I can't wait to see the finished product and start making plans for my in wall build. I don't think I have ever seen a 225 with the volume of filtration that yours has Lol. The fish are going to be loving it.

I would like a silver arowana, fire eel, and my wife has a red oscar already. Any sugestions?

Forget the silver, go with a Jardini, much more beautiful fish!

One more change tonight. I did not like the blue color so I put the first coat of black on tonight. I think it looks better already.

You are either:
A. One quick worker.
B. A man with a lot of free time.
C. Super enthusiastic.

Regardless, looking really nice. Was not sure of the 'rock' wall when you started but definitely looking worth it now.
