24 gallon saltwater tank. really cool tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes nutrafin is for salt. my nitrites and ammonia are at 0. i only bought 2 live rocks and 4 uncured. the live rock is doing fine. the uncured is actually extremely porous. im adding coraline booster to help it out, and all the fish r doin fine. im having no problems as of now.

0. ph is 8.0 if tht was your next question

thanx man

yeah I would have to agree on rushing it.. I let my tank sit a month with no rock just light and live sand, another month with rock, light and sand, then I added 3 hermits and 3 snails... then 2-3 weeks later 2 fish... then over a month later another hermit and more snails. Just keep an eye on the levels to see if you tanks spikes at all, maybe it will work for you, but I would keep an eye out just in case its not fine later. I took it slow adding live fish/inverts because you have to make sure that the tank can keep up with the bioload from adding everything. We all have our own way of doing stuff. Good Luck

I TYPE IN ALL CAPS

i checked the levels again and evrything is still legit. im waiting another couple weeks before adding a bubble tip in there for the clowns. theyre really ready for one and im tied of them diggin up the sand exposing the bottom of my backdrop which looks horrible. lol.

This is the first thing that really sent of the alarms in my head. Your rock doesnt look live to me, and I would say you stocked too fast, but everything you have in there is super hardy, and likely to make it regardless. Your h2o quality looks good, so that is no longer a concern. But your lights look really dim. I would check and make sure that those LED's are meant for keeping corals. The best way to do this is get a par meter, and check what kind of readings you would have at the bottom of the tank. A nem without proper conditions WILL DIE, and when it does...your whole tank will nuke. Like it will look like it was filled with skim milk.
